I ran really fast this morning.  3 1-mile repeats at 7:43, 7:39, and 7:44.

I am now exhausted and praying that this lab goes by quickly so I can take a nap before training Annie tonight.  Luckily I get to rest and see B. this evening.

Yawn.

The weather here is pure insanity.  It just stormed thunder and lightning and rained cherry-sized hail.  Sweet jesus.  Looks like little N. and I will be staying in this afternoon.

7:00 am
Good nine hours of sleep last night.  My brain is a bit frazzled and I could probably use more but time to get on with the day.  I have a tight agenda to follow.

7:15-8:15 jog to track, do speedwork, jog home
8:15-8:30 shower, breakfast, coffee
8:30-10:30 final two hours of midterm review
11-1: midterm
1-2: lunch, write lab report conclusion and print out
2-5: lab
5-6: drive back, snack
6-7: train T.

After that, whatever the fuck I feel like :)

Here goes.

I get to register for my PSU summer classes in exactly 6 days.  Thank god it's May!

Crap, I am way behind in my list.  Got the sudden urge to bake peanut butter cookies....they will be done soon then I am skipping forward to the lavender bath then digging in to Physics.  Going to set up the study station in the bedroom with candles and everything.

Ok, I have many things to accomplish tonight.  I am feeling the need for a list, organized chronologically:

1. Dinner while watching a bit of Best of SNL: Dana Carvey
2. Finish reading Ch. 17, homework set.
3. Read review chapter on waves (both sound and light)
4. Bubble bath with lavender scented flakes (thanks Tas), finish reading Cowgirls while in the tub.
5. Begin writing lab report.  Get through at least purpose and method sections.  You can do conclusions and add tables tomorrow.
6. More SNL or begin reading History of Love.  Whatever the mood dictates.

Ooo, terriyaki chicken is smelling very good.

There is nothing like a lying in the grass in the park on a sunny day to perk up your mood.  Even if you have to lie in the grass on a sunny day studying physics.  Especially if your boyfriend decides to trek over from the other side of town just to say hi and give you a kiss and then go home again so you can keep studying.

Mmm.  I am happy.

8:00 am
I woke up late today.  I was just way too comfortable snuggled up with Riki and the down comforter to get out of bed any earlier than quarter to 8.  So, no spinning.  Whoops.  No matter, I'm going to do an easy warm-up jog (15-20 min) then lift at home.  Might as well take advantage of all this fancy equipment.

I like Wednesdays.   Wednesdays mean therapy, mornings studying at Palios, nanny-ing, and training A.  And tonight there is the potluck!  My tie-dyed cupcakes turned out pretty cool.  Maybe I will post a picture.....

Like is boring and i like it.

News:

1. I will be running the Sauvie Island Half-Marathon on July 4th.  Training started today in the form of a cross-training spin class and a chest/shoulders/triceps lift.  Tomorrow I get to do speed work on the track and I'm excited.
2.I am going to need another me night pretty soon. Probably tomorrow as well as Wednesday.
3. I have lots of fun things happening this week.  Potluck on Wednesday, "girls night" on Thursday, Farmers Market on Saturday, Landmark conversation on Saturday (friend is hosting this, not sure what its about but should be fun).

Need to do my lab report, shower, nap, and eat lunch all within the next three and a half hours.

Ready, go.

8:24 pm - Odds and Ends
Another rare night at home alone for me (guy's night out).  I am quite excited.  I suppose I could go out if I wanted to but I really don't.  I don't get nearly enough alone time and I'm going to hoard it.  I am going to take my book into the bathroom and soak and read until my toes are prune-y and then I'm going to get into bed with Riki and paint my toenails bright red while watching Zero Effect.

I listened to yesterday's broadcast of Democracy Now while I was at the gym tonight.  It is an hour-long show so it is a good way at getting me to do my whole workout.  It feels really good to be listening to the news again.  I can feel my brain absorbing and expanding as she speaks.  She had both Howard Zinn AND Noam Chomsky as guest speakers so it was particularly fascinating.

Da dum da dum.  Bubbles.

3:41 pm - Recovery
I've gone from a 3-hour nap yesterday (immediately post-race) to a 1.5-hour nap today (right around mid-day).  This is progress and my body definitely needs it.

No formal workout today as my hips are still achy and making me feel like an old lady.  But with enough stretching, foam rolling, and sleep I'm sure this will pass.  I'm taking a full two weeks off running of any form and at least a full month off any sort of structured running.  Spinning, swimming, stairmaster, and weights here I come.

I've decided that I will indeed be doing another half-marathon, and I've nearly settled on the half-counterpart to the Seattle marathon in November, two days after my 24th birthday.  Should be fun, plus I've heard this is a great race to be a part of.

I feel really good today.  I am slowly wading through my Physics homework and trying not to let myself become overwhelmed by the amount of information or how difficult it is for me to grasp.  I've nearly accepted the fact that Physics is not something that is logical to me (like algebra) and I need to just get through it and move on into more exciting and accessible disciplines of science such as biology and organic chemistry.  Or so I'm hoping.   I just want to dissect dead bodies okay?

I just finished reading the chapter on Simple Harmonic Motion in my supplemental review book and now I'm going to brew a pot of coffee, take my first shower of the day, and then settle into Chapter 15 of our assigned text on Oscillations (also dealing with SHM).  I lent B. my car today to get himself to a company meeting on the evils of fraud.  Hilarious.  He is running around all day long so I'm going to be a nice girlfriend and make him some dinner out of the chicken/salad/rice pilaf leftovers to take with him to work this evening.

My only other responsibility today is to train Annie at 6:45, and then I'm going to Palio's for my fourth or fifth cup of coffee and my usual biscotti.  I hope they have the chocolate ones.  I will probably be taking my computer for once because I need to write up my lab report and plan on staying there for however long that takes.  Then it's home for a night to myself, something I haven't had in (dear god) over 3 weeks.  No kidding.  There will be Tom Robbins and Harry Potter involved.

:)

6:16 pm
This day is coming to a close.  It has been a whirlwind, but good things are happening.    I'll start with the best/most exciting and work down:

1. I am crazy in love and cannot stop smiling.  I am so excited to spend the night with him tonight.
2. My PT session this morning went really really well.  I need to email V.  her week's workouts and request her meal plans.
3. Even though one of the kids was having numerous meltdowns today, nannying is fun and easy and will keep me economically stable.
4. I got an email from a former client who wants to train privately with me, bringing my client number to four.
5. Good visit with Mom and Sister.  Happy to have my life back.
6. I get to train A. in twenty-five minutes.
7. First of the last Sopranos episodes is on tonight.  B. and I will be watching.
8. It is time to taper!
9. Strawberries are on sale and I am going to eat a basket a day!

Off to get wet.

Holy Hell.  Yeah, so in my Easter Basket I got keys to B.'s apartment, which led to a whirlwind of giddy exclamation points yesterday afternoon and evening.  :)

I did not sleep well last night because I am nervous about my first-ever outdoor training session this morning.  I'm not sure why.  I have trained this woman for months and we click well.  I guess I feel like I need to prove myself all over again and I am now outside the comfort zone of the gym.  However, this is what I have wanted for months and months and I probably need to cut myself some slack and give myself at least a few sessions to be great.  And in the meantime it will probably still be good.

After that ends at 7:30 I am heading over to the gym for a workout of my own for 1-hour, then back home to wake up the Soph and spend a few more hours with her and Mom.  I think we are taking a family trip to Cost Plus to get my brother a few household items.  I will probably ask for a few new large mugs, seeing as I broke both of them in one shot this past week.

It is a rainy week.  I wish this was not the case for my first week of training but oh well.  I will forge ahead anyway.

I need to do Physics today.  I will be hanging with the kiddos and taking them to swimming lessons.  I will be training A. tonight in the Laurelhurst park.  Oddly, I am not nervous about that one.

Okay, here goes.

10:49 am - Spring Cleaning
Lots of de-cluttering going on today.  On a physical level I am scrubbing floors and throwing out bags full of old fitness magazines.

On an emotional level I did a lot of good work in therapy this morning and feel like everything is moving forward.  Enough being dragged down by past baggage.

I am excited for this weekend.  Final long training run tomorrow: 10 miles.  I'm doing part of the race course-up Naito to Terwilliger and all the way down Broadway.  Plan is to be out running by 7:30 am tomorrow to ensure time for breakfast, shower, and nap before I have to pick up my mom and sister at the airport.

For once, I am excited about easter.  I am getting a basket this year, it is Riki's birthday (and our 1-year anniversary), and I have really been in the mood to eat chocolate lately.

Back to scrubbing.

6:40 am
Here we are at March 25th.  The last 3 days in my life have been so jam-packed with exciting changes and events that I'm beginning to feel I'm on a non-stop roller coaster ride.  I'm not quite ready to get off.

Today is going to be another fun one.  Here is the agenda:

1. Currently I am finishing up my oatmeal, about to drink some coffee and eat some cottage cheese.  After that I will do the dishes and then ride over to meet Tasia to run the Bridge to Bridge 10K.
2.Back home and showered by 11.  Eric is coming over for a belated birthday brunch.  I'm either making crepes or pancakes depending on what he feels like.  There will be lots of chocolate-flavored coffee brewing as well.  That stuff makes my whole kitchen smell delicious.
3.Train from 2-4.  My 3 pm is a pool session which means I get to suit up and get wet.  Goodie.  We are going to be working on breaststroke mechanics and probably freestyle flip-turns.
4.Meet  my client V. at the Rogue for a drink and to discuss post 24-hour training options.
5. Evening with Brendan.  Mmmm.  I really want it to warm up today so I can wear my new skirt over....we'll see.

Coffee.

My legs are tired and achy.  I guess that's to be expected after yesterday's long run, so I'm going to take extra care of them today (foam rolling, hot bath) and try and get a nap in as well.

Maybe I should start supplementing with glucosamine again.

I have a long long list of people to call/email/things to arrange for life after 24 hour fitness, but it is all going to have to wait until after my final on Wednesday.  I have been studying hard but there is still lots to do and I think I'll be holing up at Janice's tonight to get it done.

I am feeling very calm.  The next four weeks hold lots of exciting things.

1.Meeting Gianna
2. Vermont Vacation
3. Being done with 24hour fitness
4. Starting my own training business
5. Possibly starting work at a private swim school in Beaverton (as an instructor)
6. Mom and Sophie coming to visit
7. Easter/Riki's birthday
8.  Spring.

Okay, time to focus on today.  Need to go to the gym in a bit to meet with a client, then home, laundry, study, get ready for interview.  Then all-night review.

I have been really ravenous today.  Probably 3000 calories ravenous.  But none of it has been binging and all of it has been nutritionally sound so I'm just not going to worry about it.

This is probably the likely result when the day before I run 7 miles and eat 1500.  Can we say rebound?

Must be more careful of that next week...

Ugh, I really really hate writing lab reports. They are fucking tedious and boring. Anyway.

Last lecture tonight (whee!) after which I am going to go to Powell's and read some or all of James and the Giant Peach, more of Skinny Legs and All, and do lots of journaling.  Mani gave me a therapy assignment tonight which I am excited about.

Anyway, that's where I'll be, so if anyone (Tas!) feels like joining me from roughly 8:30 (lecture should be done by then) until 10 or so, come on over.  :)

Mornings at Janice's house are so so soothing. She bustles around the kitchen like the quintessential mother hen, preparing the food for husband and son (although Ian does get his own coffee). She is chatty and smiling and not at all over the top for this early hour. I sit perched on my favorite wooden stool with coffee and a bowl of cereal (with bananas, soy protein powder, and 1 % milk, this woman is obviously related to me). She makes jokes about the elaborate meal she is cooking for Will (who suffers from Crone's and thus cannot eat anything wheat-based or processed) but really she does not mind. She is pure gold.

Now I get to take Will to Club Sport and hang out with him, Mike, J.D., and Patrick while they do Sports Group then say hello to a few of my old CS buddies, then back to Janice's for a morning of Physics.

This house screams family and comfort in every room and I plan on submerging myself in it.

It is really really over. I went over there and got my guitar, blanket, and toothbrush.

I guess there should be some peace now, but for tonight there is just grief. Maybe peace will start to arrive tomorrow. I'm counting on it.
